Commercial Window Film For Los Angeles Buildings And Fleets

Solar control, safety and privacy film for offices, storefronts and homes.

Fleet vehicle tinting scheduled in batches so you stay operational.

Surveyed before quoting, and fitted out of hours where floors are occupied.

The Short Answer

Commercial window film is fitted to existing glazing to cut solar heat gain, glare and fading, without replacing the glass. On buildings it lowers the afternoon cooling load and removes the hot spots staff complain about. On fleets it protects interiors and drivers. Both are priced after a survey, never over the phone.

Why Buildings Need It

Glass is the weakest point in any building envelope.

A large glazed facade admits an enormous amount of solar energy.

Every unit of that heat has to be removed again by the air conditioning.

In Southern California the commercial rate structure penalises peak demand, so the timing of the saving matters as much as the amount.

Film is also one of very few envelope upgrades that can be done without closing floors or erecting scaffolding.

Film Types

Four categories, four different problems.

Heat, glare, fading and security point to different products. Guessing wastes money.

01 · Heat

Solar Control

Reflects and absorbs solar energy before it enters.

The main choice for west and south facing glazing.

Neutral versions are visually subtle from outside.

02 · Safety

Security Laminate

A thicker film that holds glass fragments to the membrane when it breaks.

Slows forced entry and reduces injury risk from flying glass.

Also relevant seismically, where falling glass is the hazard.

03 · Privacy

Frosted And Decorative

Obscures without blocking light, for meeting rooms and partitions.

Can carry cut logos or banding.

A fraction of the cost of switching to etched glass.

04 · Vehicles

Fleet Tinting

Consistent film across every vehicle in the fleet.

Batched so only a few are off the road at a time.

Fitted to the legal front window limit, which applies to commercial vehicles too.

Commercial Versus Automotive

Not the same product at all.

People assume building film is car tint in bigger sheets. It is not.

Architectural films are engineered for flat glass, larger spans and different performance targets.

The categories include low-emissivity and safety laminates that have no automotive equivalent.

Application methods, warranties and even the adhesives differ, which is why the two are quoted separately.

How We Do It

Five stages, starting with a visit.

Anyone quoting a facade without seeing it is guessing.

Stage 01

Site Survey

Glass area, orientation, existing glazing, and what problem you are actually solving.

Stage 02

Specification

The film matched to that problem, with shading coefficient and heat gain figures, not a marketing name.

Stage 03

Scheduling

Agreed floor by floor, out of hours where the floor is occupied.

Stage 04

Installation

Interior work is quiet and quick per pane. Exterior upper floors need specialist access.

Stage 05

Sign Off

Every pane checked, warranty registered, and maintenance guidance handed over.

Fleet Work

How a fleet gets done without going offline.

Batched scheduling. A few vehicles at a time, in an order agreed with you up front.

Consistency. Same film, same shade, same batch where possible, so vehicles match parked side by side.

Driver welfare. People who drive all day take far more ultraviolet exposure than office staff.

Compliance. The front window limit applies per vehicle, so an illegal fleet is a citation risk multiplied.

Warranty

What commercial cover includes.

Commercial-grade warranties differ from consumer ones and often include labor.

Covered
Not Covered

We check the glass type before specifying, because some films on some glazing can cause thermal stress.

That check is part of the survey and is one reason we will not quote blind.

Aftercare 01

Cleaning

Soft cloth and mild solution. Abrasive pads and scrapers will mark the film surface.

Aftercare 02

Cure Period

Leave the glass alone for the period specified. Moisture haze clears on its own.

Aftercare 03

Inspection

Periodic checks catch edge lift early, particularly on large panes.

Straight Answers

What we will not claim.

We will not quote a savings percentage. It depends on your building. We model it or we say we do not know.

Film is not double glazing. It reduces solar gain, not conductive heat loss in winter.

Security film is not bulletproof. It delays entry and contains fragments. It does not stop a determined attack.

Not every glass type suits every film. Thermal stress is real, which is why the survey comes first.

Questions We Get Asked

Answered plainly.

Do you quote buildings over the phone?

No. Glass area, orientation, access and the existing glazing all change the answer, so we survey first and quote from measurements.

How disruptive is the installation?

Interior work is quiet and quick per pane, usually floor by floor. Occupied floors are normally done out of hours.

Can you work on upper floors from outside?

Yes, but it needs specialist access and is priced accordingly. Interior application is preferred wherever it achieves the same result.

Will our landlord need to approve it?

Often, particularly for reflective films that change the exterior appearance. Check the lease before committing and we will supply the specification.

Do you do residential windows too?

Yes. Homes with large west-facing glazing have the same problem as offices, on a smaller scale.

How many fleet vehicles can you do at once?

Enough to keep you running rather than as many as possible. We agree a batch order so you always know which vehicles are out.

Can film go on double glazed units?

Sometimes, but not always. Certain film and glazing combinations create thermal stress, which is exactly what the survey checks.

Do you supply the performance figures?

Yes, shading coefficient and solar heat gain data for the specified film. If a supplier will not give you those, that tells you something.

What about storefront security film?

Common request for ground floor retail. It holds the pane together so a smash and grab meets a membrane rather than an opening.

Can you remove old failing film?

Yes, and on a large facade it is a significant part of the job. It is quoted as its own line, not hidden in the total.
